TSU Debate Team, Nia’s Daughters Movement, Urbans Souls Dance Company, Outspoken Bean, Theater Under the Stars, The Ensemble Theatre, Bayou City Brass Band, and THE JUNETEENTH CITYWIDE OPENING CEREMONY led by the Founding Neighborhoods of Juneteenth Houston (3rd Ward, 4th Ward, 5th Ward, Acres Homes, Sunnyside, South Park, Independence Heights).

LITERARY TENT by CLASS Bookstore
CLASS Bookstore will be providing a literary tent for young readers to meet the authors of their favorite books and get them signed.
PUBLIC ART INSTALLATION
Check out this year’s Public Art Installation inspired by our theme, “Crowns of Liberation”. Take photos, interact with it, and go up for the Gram, while immersing yourself in the rich history, legacies, and traditions of our culture.

Grab your friends and loved ones and join us and we dance around the promenade of Emancipation Park being led by Bayou City Brass Band!

Juneteenth Red Foods Cookout Cookoff
Themed Sweet and Savory, the Inaugural Red Foods Cookout Cookoff is a backyard brawl style cooking competition featuring 6 chefs competing to take home the coveted title, $500 and a custom Juneteenth cutting board! Come by and try these decadent dishes and vote for your favorite chef. Tickets are only $15! Tickets go on sale soon!

Spades League HTx is teaming up with Juneteenth Houston to bring you the Juneteenth Spades Tournament — a card-slappin’, table-talkin’, event like no other!
