Juneteenth VS. featuring The Red Foods Cookoff & Spades Tournament
Two events. One location.
11am-1pm | Taste 8 Juneteenth inspired dishes from local chefs across the city. Tickets only $5 and allows you to vote for your favorite dish. Click here. Tickets can be purchased onsite as well.
12pm-4pm | Juneteenth Spades Tournament sponsored by Spades League HTX. Winner take all spades tournament with a $250 grand prize. Entry is free and open to the public. Click here to register your team.

EMANCIPATION PARK - 3018 EMANCIPATION AVE.
3pm | Meet, Amechi Ugwu, the artist behind this year’s Public Art Activation and get a curated tour of the exhibit. Look for the Public Art Activation installation on the festival grounds.
4pm | Join us at the Blessings Stage for UNEVEILING OF THE NEW JUNETEENTH FLAG! This is year out out a statewide call for a Tecxas-based Juneteenth Flag and of 80+ submissions the public selected ONE! Come see it unveiled and get your flag too!

8pm | Join us on Almeda for the Haiti and Brazil FIFA watch party.

JUNE 20TH

HARRIS COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING - 1001 PRESTON ST.
8am-10am | Rembrance Park concept design reveal and lynching markers unveiling. This once in a lifetime moment will end with a second line honoring those taken and featuring the new Juneteenth Flag.

SAM HOUSTON PARK - 1000 BAGBY ST.
12pm | JUNETEENTH FLAG RAISING
Join us at the Jack Yates House at Sam Houston Park for the official raising of the ne JUNETEENTH FLAG. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to see the flag raised for the first time in history! Tea cakes and red punch will be served at the bandstand immediately following. This is in partnership with the Heritage Society.

JUNE 21st

HOUSTON MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE - 4807 CAROLINE ST.
11am-6pm | View the first installation of the Black Neighborhood Quilt Project as a part of the museums new exhibition, Bayou City Stewards. Curator led tours are available on this day.
